The useful spreadsheet is not the longest one. It is the shortlist that still makes sense after every live link is checked.
Add this page to a spreadsheet link audit
For every shortlisted row, save the current source URL, item reference, category, option text, observed price date and QC status. Recheck the original listing before ordering because spreadsheet links and seller options can change.
Mark unavailable, redirected or materially changed listings instead of silently replacing them. This keeps the spreadsheet useful as a research record and avoids treating an old link as current evidence.
Pass one: remove links that no longer work
Open every candidate in a fresh session. Remove links that are unavailable, redirect somewhere unrelated or no longer show the option that made them interesting.
Do not preserve a dead link just because it once appeared in a popular sheet. A shorter current list is more useful than an impressive total.
Pass two: record the live option
Write the current product type, selected color, size or version and the price attached to that option. Main images can represent a more expensive variation than the default price.
If the seller description is unclear, mark it for research rather than filling the gap with an assumption.
Pass three: define the warehouse check
For each remaining item, write the one or two QC views that would affect your decision. Shoes may need size and sole views; clothing may need measurements; bags may need dimension and hardware views.
This turns the sheet into a workflow instead of a gallery. If you cannot explain what should be checked, the row may not be ready.
Pass four: consider parcel impact
Add a rough category note for weight and volume, then replace it with the warehouse figure later. Structured items can affect parcel dimensions more than folded clothing.
The final five links should be current, understandable and supported by a clear QC plan—not simply the five with the best thumbnails.
